What Are Dimensional Signs?
Dimensional signage uses raised or indented letters and images to provide depth on a material that represents a business, person, or brand. Dimensional signage provides a clean and professional look, as well as providing consumers with the feeling that the product is high-end. Dimensional signage is most commonly used for businesses, residential communities, and public common areas to provide a less commercial feel to the information they are providing. In personal use, dimensional signage can be used to display the name of a property, decoration, and even humor. Dimensional signage is highly customizable to fit the need of the project, and nearly any material can be used to produce the desired result. High Density Urethane Foam (HDU), Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and routed wood are some of the most commonly used materials to produce clean looking dimensional signage.
Angle Brackets
Installing angel brackets allows you to rotate semi-permanent signage, which becomes especially useful if you want to be able to replace standardized signage for your office park between different tenants. This removes the need to repair the surface the sign is installed on when a tenant moves out, and making it easy to install a new tenant’s sign with the same standardized spacing and shape requirements as the original.
Exterior Screws
Using exterior screws is a guaranteed way of making sure your sign doesn’t come down unless you intend for it to. There are several different type of screws that can be used, including, drywall screws with anchors, stainless steel screws, and ceramic coated screws. Alternatively, the use of tamper proof screws prevents the removal of a sign without a special tool.
Standoffs
Standoffs give dimension to your signage by taking it off the wall slightly. This is a perfect look for a professional setting with a high end look. Standoffs are screw mounted onto the walls and then the sign face is placed on them and a cap is screwed on, to hold it in place. Standoffs are generally recommended for interior panel-based signage.
